Welcome to Wendy Weir Fashion Designer Extraordinaire!
I am a clothing and graphic designer for all your design requirements. Whether it’s flat sketches or CAD’s. Graphic prints or storyboards. Social media or logo design as long as it is creative I can do it! I love anything and everything that is creative and I want to share it with you!
A little about me Can’t get enough of Masterchef, MKR and Riverdale. Love books, 80’s music, sunshine and dogs. Have a very, very long bucket list.
Successes… I have a Diploma in Fashion Design from Technikon Natal, now known as DUT (Durban University of Technology). A certification from Pixel Craft for Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. I have travelled extensively overseas to Miami, New York, London, Paris and Barcelona. This was to research design trends and interpret the styles for the South African market. Whilst working for Milady’s as a Trend & Design forecaster, I developed and worked on launching the new “Sequel” brand. I designed the store layout and the underwear and sleepwear styles. At Mr Price I worked as a Visual Merchandiser. I was successful in opening new stores and being involved in visual merchandising videos and visual aids that are used in stores. Career… My career started as a boys wear specialist knitwear designer then moved onto ladies sportswear. Then I packed up all my goodies and left for the USA and worked in Pittsburgh. I later moved to the UK and worked for Elle Actif Sportif. What an eye opener to work and live in these countries but the experience was paramount to discovery of the true sense of my artistic ability. After coming home, I worked as a ladies wear merchandiser and then back into design and trend forecasting for ladies wear. I moved into the retail sector and successfully ran a string of underwear factory stores and later a uniform shop at a private girls school.
